What makes this hard

Most problems described as blockchain problems are not.

01

Technology chosen before the problem

A distributed ledger with a single writer is a database with extra cost and latency.

02

Immutable mistakes

Code that cannot be changed after deployment turns an ordinary bug into a permanent liability.

03

Key management as the real risk

Most losses are not cryptographic failures. They are operational failures in how keys are held and used.

04

Unclear regulatory position

Treatment varies sharply by jurisdiction and moves quickly, which has to shape the design rather than follow it.

Common questions

Before you
get in touch.

Do we actually need a blockchain?

Often not, and we will tell you so. It earns its cost when multiple parties who do not fully trust each other must share state without a trusted intermediary.

How do you handle smart contract security?

Independent review before deployment, upgrade paths designed in deliberately, and limits on value at risk. Deployed contract code is unforgiving of assumptions.

Public or private chain?

It follows from who the participants are and what needs verifying. Private chains give control and lose most of the trust properties that motivated the choice.

What about energy use?

Proof-of-stake and layer-two networks have changed this materially. We will be specific about the footprint of whatever we propose.

Can this integrate with our existing systems?

Yes, and it usually must. The ledger is one component in a wider architecture, not a replacement for it.
