What makes this hard

Deployment is a scheduled event people dread.

01

Manual release steps

Anything performed by hand under pressure at midnight will eventually be performed wrong.

02

Tests nobody trusts

A suite that fails intermittently gets ignored, and then it is not a safety net at all.

03

Long feedback loops

When a pipeline takes an hour, developers batch changes, and batched changes are harder to diagnose when they break.

04

No safe way back

Without a tested rollback, every deployment is a one-way decision made with incomplete information.

Common questions

Before you
get in touch.

How often should we deploy?

Often enough that any single deployment is boring. Frequency is a consequence of confidence, and confidence comes from tests and rollback, not from process.

Do we need Kubernetes?

Frequently not. It solves real problems at a certain scale and adds substantial operational burden below it. We size the platform to the team that has to run it.

How do you deal with flaky tests?

Quarantine them, fix the cause, and treat flakiness as a defect. A suite people override is worse than no suite, because it produces false confidence.

What about existing pipelines?

We usually improve what exists rather than replace it. Migration to a new CI platform rarely returns the disruption it costs.

Can you help with on-call?

Yes — alert design, runbooks and escalation. The goal is fewer pages, not faster response to an unchanged volume.
